Good point that wind turbines projects should become more community driven.
You now see local municipalities looking into burning waste to generate electricity (eg Meaford). There would otherwise be a more of a huge uproar without this level of community involvement.
The people who are most upset are those close to the proposed project because of fear of declining property values. I personally don’t believe these people should suffer that possibility. Municipalities should offer to buy these people out at current market value and then resell.
Of course a lot of people won’t be happy with that either but the importance of the project should not be overshadowed by individual concerns.
We should remember that people were moved off the Meaford Tank Range because of the war. Our current environmental threats are (in my view) far greater than WW2 was. They are just not as obvious.
One thing about Dalton. He has shown in the past that he is willing to admit when he is wrong and take a different course.
As well he is not as afraid to do what he thinks is right at the expense of political disfavour (unless it is really close to election time. : ) )
