Well done Michael. We can always depend on you for sensible, authoritative analyses of current issues. I’ll look forward to your solutions and hope that the new city council will be listening.
I must say that it is refreshing and welcome to see that you are open to comments. This is a far cry from the Sun Times that only permits comments from subscribers. Something that many of us find small minded and unworthy of a community newspaper. It is bad enough that many letters to the editor seldom appear but the subscribers only policy is particularly egregious.

A very good article – again. You have unerringly focused on what needs to be done.
I know it is not feasible, but I wish someone had the nerve to do an analysis of the effectiveness of the current council members. There are many of us who are not impressed at what they have been able to accomplish and the problems that they have allowed to develop. It is worrisome to see long lists of committees they have chaired or sat on in their campaign literature, but they are strangely silent about what if any positive actions may have resulted. We need new people with new ideas.
